I loved my container garden! Our New York apartment just doesn't seem to be so accomadating to my desire for a garden. Posted by Picasa

This is the Bed & Breakfast we stayed in. We loved it! It was our first time trying one out and it was an excellent experience. The hosts were great, the accomodations comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing! Posted by Picasa

Brian in the New York Botanical Garden. It was our first trip to the Garden and the conservatory was closed because there was a wedding party going on. We asked how much it cost to throw a wedding bash inside the conservatory, you know for future reference. Guess how much? 5 MILLION DOLLARS! That's right, $5,000,000 and that doesn't include the invitations. Posted by Picasa

We went to a show called "Drumstruck" which was a lot of fun. Everyone got to play along! Posted by Picasa
Pretty cool instrument. The music she was playing was pretty funky. This is in Washington Square Park. Posted by Picasa

Brian recently did some research on how our neighborhood got its name, "Hell's Kitchen." Late in the 19th century the neighborhood was one of the most dangerous places in this country. There are a few legendary tales of how Hell's kitchen got it's ungodly name but the most common version traces it to the story of Dutch Fred The Cop, a veteran policeman, who with his rookie partner, was watching a small riot on West 39th Street near 10th Avenue. The rookie is supposed to have said, "This place is hell itself," to which Fred replied, "Hell's a mild climate. This is Hell's Kitchen."

The kitchen. We live on the 4th floor of a walk-up (no elevator) building. Moving in was quite the chore, but on the plus side my legs are getting so toned!Posted by Picasa
